1st Annual Hawaii Food & Wine Festival
To Offer Cuisine from World Class Chefs
Hawaii and International master chefs will offer Hawaii-influenced gourmet cuisine in the first Hawaii Food and Wine Festival, from Sept. 29 through Oct. 1. The festival theme is Taste Our Love for the Land.
Celebrated chef-restaurant entrepreneurs Roy Yamaguchi and Alan Wong are the chairs. Proceeds from the event will go to the Hawaii Agricultural Foundation and Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Kapiolani Community College.
The three-day festival includes:
- Streets of Asia: Morimoto & Friends, Sept. 29, 6 p.m.-10 p.m., Waikiki EDITION, 1775 Ala Moana Blvd. It features fare from celebrity chef-restauranteur Masaru Morimoto and other world class chefs and top-tier vinters. VIP Reception, Sun Suite, 5 p.m.-6 p.m.; Sunrise Pool, 6-10 p.m. Tickets: $200 ($75 tax-deductible).
- 1st Annual Halekulani Master Chefs Gala Dinner Series, Sept. 30, 6 p.m.-7 p.m., Halekulani Hotel, 2199 Kalia Road. VIP Reception, 6 pm-7 pm, Orchid Suite. Cocktail party, 6 pm-7 pm, Garden Terrace. Gala Dinner, 7 pm, Ballroom.
- From Mauka to Makai, Oct.1, 6 p.m.-9 p.m., Hilton Hawaiian Village, Ahupua'a on the Great Lawn. Celebrity chefs prepare farm to table cuisine in this grand tasting event.
